My Summer Plans

Hello!

I know that a lot of schools are still in session, but I have been on break as of three weeks ago.  Unfortunately, on my first week of break I came down with the flu and was stuck in bed.  Last summer break I didn't really do much, my "plans" were not that substantial, you can read about some of them here.  Hopefully my summer plans this year will be more beneficial to me.


Travel

I am super excited for being able to travel to Melbourne, Australia this summer! When this post is posted I should hopefully be in Melbourne already.  I am super excited to be traveling to a city this year, as opposed to a national park(see here).  I do not know that much about Australian culture, but I am excited to be immersed in it.  I will hopefully be able to see some kangaroos and koala bears.

School

For the first time ever, I will be attending summer school.  I am going to take a class at my local community college that covers a breadth(basically a general elective requirement at Berkeley).  I debated throughout the year on which class to take and I settled on intro to nutritional science(fulfills biological science).  I have never taken a class over the summer before, so this should be interesting.

I hope to continue to deep-clean my room this summer(something I could have been doing the past two weeks).  I also hope to further some of the technical skills that I acquired whilst in a business association this past semester(e.g. excel, photoshop, lightroom).  I also want to get back onto the fitness train, with a goal of working out at least three times a week.  I tried doing a ballet beautiful video yesterday, and I really felt the burn so I stopped because I did not want to be super sore for the plane ride.  However, when I woke up this morning is was still sore.  I also am going to be going to the ice rink more consistently this summer, probably 2+ times a week for me.  I went this morning and could really feel the affects of not going for a month and a half.

Hopefully everything goes to plan!

Dear all,

 

This weekend I had a lot of ideas come to my head.  First I sort of figured out what my back-up major to my totally unstable current capped major was going to be.  I guess I'm now going to take sociology next semester.  I was inspired by one of the girl's on the figure skating team's bios.  It says that she's a sociology major with a focus in marketing and entrepreneurship, which is basically business(in my mind).  So yeah, I guess I'm doing sociology now.

Then because I am currently really bored, because everything I want to work on right now I can't(due to circumstances on which I have to rely on other people for).  I decided to go on reality steve and look at the initial reveals of the guys on Jojo's season.  Then I moved on to the girls on Ben's season.  I already knew that Lauren B. used to be a flight attendant, but I did not know that she also had a B.A. in Business Management(aka what I'm sort of kinda of looking towards pursuing).  I was like wow, I could do that.  That's when I realized that I could do that.  I could become a flight attendant after college.

On another note, I am coming home for Thanksgiving, and I am so excited.  The other day when my grandmother called me, and told me that she wished I was coming home for Thanksgiving, I said the same thing.  And then today I get a phone call from my parents asking if I want to come home.  Apparently my grandmother had been calling my parents and relaying this information to them.

Anyways yeah, this was kind of random, but I really felt the urge to make a blog post about it.  Until next time, wish me luck with this week.

Legally Blonde

Omigod you guys!

It's the fifteen year anniversary of the gift to the world that is Legally Blonde.  I was planning on posting about my Gossip Girl obsession, but that can wait until another day, because I need to pay homage to the inspiration of the most amazing creation of them all: Legally Blonde- The Musical.  But that deserves a whole individualized post, so yes, the movie that started it all.

This movie is so wonderful.  Elle is such an empowered and motivated person, she is very inspirational to many people, including myself.  I love how Legally Blonde has become iconic, if I ever have kids you can bet your bottom dollar that I'm showing them Legally Blonde.

Reese Witherspoon who portrayed Elle in the movie payed homage to the film on Instagram, doing the infamous bend and snap(what else?), actually there is something else. She also went through all of her costumes from the movie on her snapchat(snapsbyreese)!  Use the hashtag #LegallyBlonde15 on social media to honor the 15th anniversary of Legally Blonde!

But seriously, I absolutely cannot believe that it has been fifteen years since Legally Blonde first came out.  It has truly inspired a generation, and will hopefully continue to inspire for generations to come.

Thank you Legally Blonde!  Like you have done for many, you have inspired me to be a better person, and to do well on AP tests(more info on that to come).

Summer Greetings!

Ahhhh the crisp sounds and smells of summer.  I love waking up and hearing the birds chirp on my way to the bathroom.  Drinking lemon water and eating my oats slowly is one of the many simple pleasures of a summer morning for me.  I had planned to have a relaxing summer, before all of the hecticness of college starts, but plans do change.  But until then I'll spend my summer days cleaning up my room, planning and organizing for college, and learning how to type(I'll keep you updated on that).  I probably should start posting consistently as well!

What's Happening to Glittery & Glam?

Hello!

So you may be wondering(or maybe that's just me) what's happening to this blog this year.  Well, let me tell you.  Firstly I have no idea how consistently or inconsistently I'm going to be posting on here.  Out of all my relaunches I feel like this one has gone the worst(in perspective).  I had a really great vision in my head for a college journey blog, but I was not able to produce it.  So, sorry for that; however, I will continue to be posting things regarding my college journey, especially with my competition of my last college application.

I think that this blog might go back to what it was meant to be, a place to express my thoughts and overall craziness.  I hope you find it entertaining!

For this week though, there is lots to come.  I have a few posts already scheduled to go up, so we will see how that goes.  Thank you to anyone that has been reading(lol like anyone reads this).

Greetings!

Omigod I can't believe it's 2016.  I can't believe that I'm graduating high school this year.  It's all so crazy.

One of the best things to do at the beginning of the year is to reflect and make goals for the year.  I wrote down all of my resolutions in a little pocket notebook that my best friend gave me for Christmas.  And it ended up being both resolutions, goals, and sort of a bucket list for the year.

Hello!
Today I wanted to try something different and just write about whatever, in no particular order of sorts.  I am currently in a good mood, because I finished the first part of my Physics homework, and i have finished both math and government.  I have yet to start on english and I will very soon.  I want to bedazzle my dress today, because the competition is next week(figure skating competition).  I have never bedazzled my dress before, so this shall be interesting.  I am sort of having a writer's block, because I feel overwhelmed with all the content I need to create before I leave, in order to keep posts going up every weekday.

I really want to add a drop-down menu on my blog, so I have been looking into it and it is definitely harder than I thought it was.  I think I will attempt to put one in as soon as I have enough time to really dedicate to getting one up.
Update 7/23/15: I have added what I thought was a dropdown menu, after doing a little research I realized that it was actually quite simple.

My Tumblr is getting better, I think.  I have realized that I really like flowers.

I have to start doing college applications very soon, and it sort of scares me to think that I might be going off to college in just a year.  I might do a college applications and prep series, once deadlines start coming.  I could like document my whole journey, and it might be fun to look back on later.  I was also considering doing a back-to-school/high school tips series.  All are just currently ideas, and none of them have been produced.

Academic decathlon is starting to really freak me out.  It is definitely one of those things that are easier said than done.  I think taking baby steps, would be the best way to go.

I really want to make this blog successful, and better.  I will learn by my mistakes, and time will tell it's tale.  I want to provide the best content, that is easy to read and interesting.  I also want to make my blog more visually appealing.  So many possibilities for the future!

Falling into piles of leaves

well hello there everyone! so I'm finally making a blog post... Anyways I hope you are all having a lovely fall so far an I decided to talk about fall today.  Fall is usually marked by the start of school, but because some weirdo decided it would be best to start in the middle of summer fall is now marked by the change of weather.  Contradictory to that, it still feels like summer here in LA, even though it is "fall".  One of the hardest things to do here in LA is figuring out the seasons.  The weather here is very weird, it feels like summer in the winter, and like winter in the middle of summer.  Since the weather varies day by day there is no marker to the start and end of each season.  Another hard thing to do is to figure out what is appropriate to wear, with the crazy weather.  When it felt like fall here I was able to wear fall clothes, like sweaters, scarves, and boots.  but when it is very hot, like in the high 70's, I would rather wear shirts as in a t-shirt.  fall is also called "sweater weather", but that doesn't always work out here in LA.  One of my favourite things about fall is apple cider, or more specifically caramel apple cider.  I make my own caramel apple cider by heating up "spiced cider" from Trader Joe's and then mixing in the most amazing caramel sauce in the world, the fleur de seul caramel from trader joe's.  Now unfortunately, Trader Joe's carries spiced cider as a seasonal drink, and the last time my mother went  there they didn't have any, which is terrible because now I can't drink caramel apple cider.  Another great thing about the change of season is redecorating.  today I was very productive and put up fall lights in my room and cleaned my room, because I don't follow the trend "spring cleaning", it's more like "whenever I feel like it cleaning".  I also decided to paint my nails because they looked terrible, I opted for fallish shades.  I also like that the leaves are all pretty during the fall time.  one thing that a lot of people like about fall is that Starbucks has pumpkin spice drinks.  I plan to try this hopefully this season, but because at the beginning of summer I told myself that I was going to try the cotton candy frap and never got around to it, I don't know how much I should trust myself with this one.  Anyways I hope you are all having a wonderful fall so far and I hope you have a wonderful day! Hi guys! what's up this is cotton as u have already probably figured and today I decided to do a really informal blog post. Think a vlog or YouTube video written out.  Anyways this is going to be full of randomness so yeah.  Anyways, I just finished all my homework for today and I decided to work on my blog.  Since I haven't really done that in a while.  Anyways, first of all what happened to me and my "oh I'm going to post on the weekends!" thing.  Well I really don't know.  So sorry about that but enough of that I decided to do a tag because this is a YouTube video inspired blog post isn't it.  And what is more YouTube video than a tag? (except cat videos of course).  So may I present to you the 10 things you probably didn't know about me TAG!!!

1. I ice skate and I have landed a double axel (in the harness)

2. The only place out of the US i have been was Germany (I went when I was in kindergarten)

3. I played violin for 8 years before I quit in 8th grade (blame it on the parents) sorry mom and dad

4. I have never ever had a Starbucks frappacinno (to myself) 

5. I am the absolute worst at learning names on the spot

6. I have weird philosophies to life

7. I believe that anyone will be able to be who they want to be they just have to get rid of the person taking that spot (don't actually follow this it's not a philosophy it's a belief

8. My actual name is emily (suprise suprise) my friends call me cotton because of their AP US H teacher.  and I actually like the name cotton. :)

9. I love being organized but I'm to lazy to stay organized for long periods I time 

10. I really love to bake (too bad I'm afraid of heat aka fire or the oven)

Food!

I love food!  Today I had taiyaki for the first time.  It is basically a pancake molded like a fish with red bean paste in the middle.  It is really good.

 

I also had a spam musubi that I got at the obon festival where is where I also got my taiyaki.

I also went to Yogurtland today with a few friends.

I tried the green tea frozen yogurt for the first time.  It was good, and I always usually get the vanilla frozen yogurt, and put mochi and animal crackers on top!

     Mine is the one closest to the front.

I also recently discovered this app called I'maunicorn.  It's pretty amazing.

Projects!

Hi!  So I have been working on a lot of projects lately, one being my summer homework unfortunately.  Anyways I plan to create a new blog with more interesting posts and stuff.  I plan to post every weekend and some occasional other times.  I still will keep this blog up of course, but it will turn into a diary like blog.  I won't write a lot on here once I create a new blog but I will not delete this blog.  Now for the big news!  I created a Facebook group called "The Sparkly Unicorn Association" it has an Eiffel Tower symbol.  Though the group is closed, to join simply "join" the group and it will send me the request.  Then I will message you (although this all happening is unlikely but hey a girl can dream) and then you will respond with the magic word "fairy dreamer".  Then I will know that you read my blog so you can join!  I will post frequently in the group! if you guys have any ideas for a new blog name I would love to know it!  So would you pretty please leave it in the comments below?  Thank you so much! Why Hello There

What a perfect time to write a blog post.  So it's 1:36 am right now and I can't sleep.  I don't know why, I really don't.  I am writing something to read to my friends tomorrow and I think that I am also going to post it here.  Anyways, I have just come back from a 2-week vacation.  My family and I went through Oregon and Washington and back.  My birthday is coming up and I'm super excited.  I want to do something, like something that actually is something.  I want to like start something.  Maybe I will finally start a style blog like I have wanted to for years.  Or maybe I'll start a food blog or maybe something different. Something that has never been done before.  I will write a summer top ten soon probably in a few minutes actually.  Anyways, my mind isn't thinking of anything else so bye.

Spring Break?

Hi everyone!!!
so this week is spring break. For my spring break I have been going to musical rehearsals and working on my homework. I thought I was sick on Thursday night so I didn't finish my homework. And I still have not finished Thursdays homework. While other people are having fun in the Bahamas I get to do my homework and a report and stay an essay. Fun. right? Well I hope your spring break is going wonderfully today is the last day of spring break rehearsals so I'm going to try to finish all of my homework so I can have somewhat of a real spring break.
